Biographical Information
Born and raised in Nazareth, Israel, Azar is an ordained minister who has been ministering to his Arab Israeli community in a number of ways for over twenty years. For thirteen years, Azar served as the pastor of the Local Baptist Church in Nazareth, and worked as an executive for the United Bible Society in Israel for ten years, where he enhanced relationships between local Arab churches and directed outreach projects to the Muslim community. For six years he also served as the General Secretary of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students in Israel. Currently, Azar is serving as the public relation director, fundraiser and a lecturer at Nazareth Evangelical College. He is also working on his PhD degree with Spurgeon’s College, completing research on the history of the Baptists in Israel. Azar has been married to his lovely wife Ibtisam for twenty-four years, and they have three sons.
