BBC Celebrates 2011 Graduation

On June 3, 2011, Bethlehem Bible College celebrated the graduation of 36 of its undergraduate students. The graduation ceremony this year marked the 4th graduation of students from the Mass Media Department, the 7th graduation of students from the Tour Guide Department, and the 24th graduation of students from the Biblical Studies Department. Approximately 400 people gathered in the outdoor space between BBC’s Main Building and New Building to watch the students receive their diplomas and to celebrate their many accomplishments!

Assistant Academic Dean and Professor, Munther Isaac, was the Master of Ceremonies for the event. The graduation program featured prayers from Rev. Dr. Muneer Kakish and Rev. Jack Sara. It also featured words of greeting and welcome from BBC President Dr. Bishara Awad and the Governor of Hebron, Kamal Hamid. The student with the highest GPA from each department offered a speech on behalf of their graduating class. Amira Farhoud spoke on behalf of the Mass Media students, Monica Hazboun spoke on behalf of the Tour Guide students, and Yousef Khoury spoke on behalf of the Biblical Studies students. In these speeches, the students expressed their thankfulness to the faculty, staff, and administration of BBC. Rev. Alex Awad offered the keynote address in which he discussed the importance of integrating morality and values, academic and scientific knowledge, and faith.

After the keynote speech, diplomas were handed out to the students by notable guests of honor including Dr. Kholud Dabies, Minister of Tourism and Antiquity, Abdullah Shakarneh, Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Jamal Hussan, General Director of the Board of Higher Education, and Dr. Jonathan Kuttab, Chairman of BBC’s Board of Directors. The ceremony was followed by a celebratory reception in the atrium of the New Building.
