On June 16th, the Bishara Awad Student Center (named in honor of Bethlehem Bible College President Bishara Awad) had its grand opening celebration. The outdoor ceremony was a beautiful event attended by community leaders and friends of BBC. After hearing speeches and stories about BBC, Raji Zedan, the Mayor of Beit Jala, joined with President Bishara and his wife, Salwa, to cut the ribbon on the Student Center. Guests were then welcomed to the indoor reception which had televisions playing different parts of the history of BBC, and in true Palestinian style: delicious pastries and sweets.  Once inside, there was a surprise unveiling of a beautiful stone-framed photograph of President Bishara in the foyer of the building.

The Center is now being used for many events, both college and community related. The beautiful building is outfitted with a cafeteria/dining hall, student canteen, gift shop, and many classrooms which will allow the College to continue to grow and expand.  BBC is very grateful to each of the friends, churches and organizations that helped make the student center dream a reality, and plaques to honor our donors are being placed in strategic locations throughout the building.
