Announcing Presidential Scholarship Recipient – Nahida Sleiby

A role model student with a hunger to learn and dedicated spirituality is the first recipient of our New Presidential Scholarship.

In February, in honor of the legacy of Dr. Bishara Awad and the passing of the baton of leadership to our new President, Rev. Dr. Jack Sara, we launched a new Presidential Scholarship.  Now, we would like to announce the recipient of this full-ride scholarship, Nahida Sleiby.

Nahida will begin her 4th Year of a BA in Biblical Studies next fall. Nahida, a former nurse, and current wife and mother of 3 children, began studying at Bethlehem Bible College simply because she wanted to learn more about God.

“I was thinking that I wanted to study and heard a voice inside of me telling me to come to the Bible College,” Nahida recalls.  “I grew up in a Christian family, going to Church and learning about God in school.  I always had a close relationship with God.  My time at the Bible College has strengthened this relationship even more and helped me to learn more on an academic level about the Bible and Theology.”

The Presidential Scholarship was awarded to Nahida based on her academic and spiritual leadership. Grace Zoughbi, a Biblical Studies professor recommended Nahida, saying: “Ever since I started teaching at the Bible College, Nahida stood out.  She is dedicated, thinks critically, and is keen to learn. She demonstrates an amazing spirituality.  I am in awe of her academic and spiritual potential and think she is a great role model to all of our students.”

Nahida will finish her studies next year and is waiting to hear what God has in store. “I live my life step by step.  The Bible College has given me academic skills, but also practical skills and I know He will use me in the future.”

To all those who gave to our Presidential Scholarship, Nahida wishes to say,  “Thank you for giving to Bethlehem Bible College, so that I could receive this scholarship. I feel appreciated to be honored in this way.”
