First Worship Leaders Conference

First Worship Leaders Conference

Participants in BBC’s first Worship Leaders’ Conference were called to be transformed by worship. The sessions were led by our guests Asaph Borba from Brazil and Mike Heron from Houston.  Asaph and Mike are seasoned worship leaders and have offered workshops and led conferences for many years. They brought an infectious energy to their mix of teaching and worship leading.

Joining this team of musicians were John Bautista, Norival Trindada and Sandru Kratz.  They came to encourage the Palestinian Christian church and emphasized the importance of worship in every context. Authentic worship creates an atmosphere and an awareness of God’s presence in every circumstance. Practical responses to difficulties can emerge out of meaningful worship.

The conference celebrated music as a gift from God, recognizing that it is an intrinsic part in all of us that draws us into communion with God and each other.

Each session began with worship led by local worship teams from the area. These included the Redeemer Praise Team from the Alliance Church from Jerusalem, Michael and Jackie Kakish from Ramallah Local Church and Jeries Baransi from Bethlehem.  Our president, Dr. Jack Sara, a musician himself, also participated in leading the worship and accompanied the other musicians on the keyboard.

The event was well attended and served to inspire worship and to spark an interest in leading worship.
