Bethlehem Bible College Students Welcome the New Year with High Dreams and Expectations

Following a long holiday commemorating three Christmases and two different New Year’s of various western and eastern rite church traditions that are celebrated in this land, Bethlehem Bible College opened its doors for the second semester to receive returning students who are full of excitement and enthusiasm.  Expectations are high that the New Year ahead will be one full of blessings and successes at the college, which is for many students like a second home.

On Wednesday, Jan 21st, students gathered for the first chapel of the year. The meeting began with praise and worship led by Dr. Munther Isaac, Brother Gabriel Hanna and Sister Piatrice Bassous. As the students worshipped they thanked God for the past year and for the coming year that is carrying within it their dreams, expectations and aspirations.

President, Rev. Dr. Jack Sara welcomed the new and old students and then shared a reflection from the Gospel of Matthew, which encouraged them to embark on a new start with the Lord at the unfolding of this year.  Rev. Sara recommended that the first step they should consider is to change their hearts and that no one can change them but the Lord Jesus. He also called upon each one whose heart’s desire is to have a new beginning with the Lord to stand for prayer.

Bethlehem Bible College is characterized by the diversity of its students, who come from various Palestinian towns and villages within the West Bank and Israel and from all backgrounds and ecclesial communities, while it receives them all with love and without bias, offering a second home for them.
