Making the ‘Peacemaking and Justice in the Palestinian Context’ special

On International Day of Education, meet Marcy Heinz, a Bethlehem Institute of Peace and Justice student, speaking briefly about her experience studying with us!

When I stepped off the plane at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel in the late 1990’s I had no idea what the road ahead of me might include. I only knew I was following God’s call and was in a season of discernment. The visit was short, but it led to other visits, cultivation of friendships, and my desire to learn grew.

The Bethlehem Institute of Peace and Justice’s Peacemaking and Justice in the Palestinian Context was the natural next step in this journey. As a Christian and a former journalist my understanding of how faiths intersect, culture influences behavior, and the inclusion of context not always available within a traditional classroom have truly grown.

The opportunity to hear from professors who are as geographically and culturally diverse as the online student body, within a framework of learning and critical thinking, while focused upon opportunities to make peace in the land of Christ truly makes the Peacemaking and Justice in the Palestinian Context special.
