The Dance of Divine Love By Lourdes Saieh

The Dance of Divine Love By Lourdes Saieh

Written by Lourdes Saieh, a Biblical Studies student, this poem beautifully reflects devotion, redemption, and the eternal embrace of God’s love.

I dance to the beats of Your heart, O my God,
I dance among the details of Your hands.
I dance to the rhythm of the pouring rain,
As if I am a young lover.

For love is only for the first beloved,
And my beloved was You from the day I was formed.
But the air stole me away
And made me forget meeting You—
Oblivious to the beauty of Your spirit,
Unaware of Your true sacrifice.

Yet You called me with a voice that shakes all dust,
As if the whole world burned
With the flame of Your love within me.
No cries or words can describe the beauty of Your work,
For if lovers were to compete,
My beloved has already won without effort.

Who but meeting You can illuminate my face?
Who restores my life,
Who saves me from illusion,
And quenches my thirst in solitude,
Other than my Creator, whose love captivates my soul?

I breathe freely with His redemption,
Every breath of my life is for Your name,
Every sigh longs for Your meeting.
O You who chose me for Yourself,
With You, I live for all time.

I love You, my Creator, the Shaper from dust.
Like precious pottery fit for a king, You made me—
To be Yours for all days.
For if I am broken or fall,
You restore and adorn all within me.

For the finest Potter,
Kindling Your love in me,
As all the servants witness—
They bear witness to the beauty of my Creator
And the wonder of His craftsmanship.

And they chant Your love,
Hoping for a beloved to redeem.
