Naseef Jahshan, a maintenance and gardening specialist, is more than just an employee; he is an integral part of the college’s spirit. A Journey from Beit Jala to the College
Naseef shares: “I am from Beit Jala, married, and a father to a daughter. I am 42 years old and have worked at Bethlehem Bible College for seven years. Since then, the college has become my second home.”
Before he joined the college, his life was quite different. “I worked in various fields, but I never felt the sense of stability and belonging I do here. Becoming part of the college was a turning point for me, as I found a place that values my work and makes me feel appreciated.”
Challenges and Rewards of the Job
Like any profession, Naseef has faced challenges. “There were tough times, especially when the work required significant physical effort. However, with patience and the support of my colleagues, I managed to overcome them.”
When asked about what he enjoys most in his job, he responded, “I love seeing the college clean and beautiful because I know it positively impacts everyone. My greatest reward is witnessing students and staff enjoying a well-maintained environment.”
The Importance of His Role at the College
Naseef is responsible for multiple tasks, from maintaining gardens to carrying out essential repairs. “I believe that keeping the surroundings clean and pleasing is not just a job, it is a responsibility that contributes to creating a comfortable and inspiring environment for learning.”
Regarding his favorite part of the job, he said, “I particularly enjoy taking care of the gardens. Planting trees and tending to flowers gives me a sense of fulfillment, knowing that I am adding beauty to the campus.”
