From the Storm to the Shore: Rita’s Journey of Faith
I was born into a Christian family and have always felt God’s presence guiding me. From an early age, I sensed a supernatural force protecting me, a presence I still feel today. But there is a profound difference between sensing this divine presence without understanding and experiencing it with clarity and conviction.
As I entered my teenage years, my relationship with God began to deepen. He saved me from countless hardships, and I’ve always felt His hand upon my life. It is as if the Lord has been steering the ship of my life from the very beginning. Even when the seas were rough and the storms threatened to overtake us, even when danger circled like relentless pirates, His presence never wavered. He remained the anchor of my soul.
I grew up in a homeland ravaged by war. We walked beneath the roar of bombs, literally. We could see them falling above us, yet we passed safely among them. I remember seeing dogs tear at the flesh of corpses on the ground, but they did not come near us. At the time, I did not fully grasp the meaning of what we were experiencing. But now, I understand the depth of the Scripture: “A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you” (Psalm 91:7). God’s mercy surrounded us even when we could not see it. Eventually, we moved from country to country until our ship finally reached a shore of safety.
And when the storm calmed, my desire to know this great Creator only grew stronger. Though we may never fully understand His ways, He has always been there, faithful and unchanging. He never left us. Never forsook us.
So I continue to seek Him. I continue to ask: How can I connect with You more deeply? How can I understand Your wisdom? Life with Christ is a journey, one of discovery, growth, and constant searching. We are in a daily battle against darkness, and even the places we once considered safe are under attack. But our weapons are spiritual: prayer, faith in His Word, and trust in His promises. I have no doubt that no matter what comes, He will not let my ship sink. And even if it does, He will reach out, lift me up, and carry me, because His mercy is great and His works in my life are countless.
This is my God. My Lord. My Savior.
