Course Description:
The IELTS language proficiency test has four components: reading, writing, listening and speaking. The course is designed for students who want to prepare for the academic module of the IELTS test. The course materials and activities will provide students with the opportunity to practice and improve the four skills and acquire the strategies required for all parts of the test. Students will improve their academic skills through a variety of simulated test tasks.
All sessions will include practice in all the skill areas required.
Learning outcomes:
Students will become familiar with the format of each section of the IELTS test. They will learn to identify all the question types and become more skilled at answering each. Classroom speaking and pronunciation activities will give learners the opportunity to work on the fluency and the accuracy of their spoken English. Through practice with past IELTS test questions, students will have a better sense of whether or not they are ready to take the test.
Requirement:
Students must have intermediate to advanced competence in English.
Students must have the necessary computer skills to meet the requirements of the IELTS iBT.
