The Rumor Has Spread

“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor  . . . “ Isaiah 61: 1-3

When Jesus performed miracles, healed the sick and preached the Good News, people who were touched by his ministry spread the rumor and not all rumors are bad.  These rumors caused a lot of people to come to Jesus to hear him and be blessed by his ministry.  This is exactly what is happening through Bethlehem Bible College and the Shepherd Society.  As we reach out to the community with the Good News of the Gospel, the people who are blessed by these ministries spread the rumor and others come to us and are blessed.

On Sunday evening, December 18th, between 900 to 1000 people came to an annual Christmas outreach hosted by BBC and the Shepherd Society to hear the good news proclaimed by song, testimony and preaching.    Rev. Victor Hashweh who has evangelistic ministries throughout NA and the Middle East, was the main speaker.  He shared a Christmas message of encouragement that was well received by the people of Bethlehem who in turn were invited to send Christmas greetings via satellite (Life Channel) to viewers throughout North Africa, the Middle East, North and South America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

As a forerunner of this event, the College and the Shepherd Society distributed hundreds of gifts to children, widows and poor families.  We are so thankful that these ministries were possible because of generous sponsors and donors who remembered the people of Bethlehem this Christmas.
