Smiles and Hope for Children with Cancer

A group of Bethlehem Bible College students visited the Bait Jala Governmental Hospital in Bethlehem to meet and offer support to children who are living with cancer. Dr. Said Sarahneh is head of the Huda Masri Centre where the children are being treated. The Huda Masri Centre is a very advanced medical facility developed by the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. Social Work Coordinator for the PCRF, Niveen Abed Al Hadi, kindly hosted the visit.

The visit was led by Madleine Sara, a faculty member at BBC, who is also involved with women and youth, and provides informal Christian counseling.

The team had opportunity to interact with the children, get to know them, and give them gifts. There was also occasion to sing for the children. One parent found the song about the peace of God particularly moving and requested that it be sung again. It was a privilege to extend the love of Christ in this way, and certainly meaningful for the BBC students as well as for the children. It was rewarding to bring smiles to the faces of children and a gesture of encouragement to the parents.
