Final Strategic Planning Session

On May 2, the staff and faculty from BBC met for their final strategic planning session of the spring.

The following represents the three primary strategic objectives, and the SMART goals supporting each objective. Each set was chosen and developed by the staff and faculty present for the discussions.

Strategic Objective1:  Increase the number and quality of (students and) programs for students

SMART goals supporting Strategic Objective #1:

A. Increase enrollment of Biblical Studies students by 100% by the Fall of 2014-2015

B. Empower (financially and new staff and volunteers) the office of the Dean of Students to increase the ability of this office by acquiring two new employees to recruit by Fall 2016 a 100% increase in all types of students.

C. Add one major and or minor to BBC programs so that students can have double majors by Fall, 2018. (Bible + Music, Sociology, Archaeology, Development, Peace Studies, Languages, Advocacy, Psychology.

Strategic Objective #2: Increase Financial Sustainability

SMART goals supporting Strategic Objective #2:

A. Create a Development Dept. with the goal of increasing donations by 7% annually.

B. Establish and enforce a standard policy for student tuition payments by collecting 100% of tuition owed from 80% of Biblical Studies students and from 100% of Media and Tour Guide students.

C.  Increase our locally generated income (Guest House, Gift Shop, etc.) by 10% annually.

Strategic Objective #3. Build the capacity of BBC Faculty/Staff

SMART goals supporting Strategic Objective #3

A. Write a clear organizational structure document, discuss with decision-makers and implement within 3 years.

B. Write a plan for empowering staff and teachers to use relevant technology, train them and provide the technology (software, computers, etc.) and evaluate the progress.

C. Develop a transparent system in which financial and tangible incentives (sabbatical, benefits) re in place to motivate faculty and staff.

Teams will be formed to address each strategic objective and work toward their completion over the next three years.
