A Walk Through the Holy Land!

For the first time and as a unique milestone, Bethlehem Bible College is offering a first specialized training course, “A Walk Through the Holy Land in its Connection to the Scriptures, History & Geography,” for Palestinian Tour guides. This will equip them with knowledge, content, and recent discoveries in the connection between the Holy Land and the Bible. This refresher training course is taught by BethBC faculty, including Haytham Dieck, head of the Tour Guiding Program, who focuses on the history, geography, and archaeology dimension. Our President, Rev. Dr. Jack Sara, focuses on the theological and spiritual levels. The 10-week course attracted 30 participants, including expert Tour Guides who have worked in the field for the last 20 years.

The course presents content that enlightens students about the geography of the Holy Land and shares both old and new information connecting past, present, and future. This will empower guides with tools to help Christian pilgrims understand the stories of the Bible and the Land in both the Old & New Testament. Guides will learn to understand how different groups of Christians (Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant) understand certain biblical stories, and know what is important to each.

The course is divided into 10 sessions and four themes. The first theme introduces the Holy Land through the connection of Geography and historical routes, where all events in the Bible took place. Secondly, the Old Testament events, with a special focus on the Patriarchs, the Exodus, wandering in the desert, entrance to the Land, etc. The third theme sheds light on the ministry of Jesus, His background, birth, ministry, death, resurrection, and second coming. We will also focus on the cultural and social life in the Roman Empire. Finally, we focus on the ministry of the apostles, and how the good news was shared from Jerusalem to the world.
