From His Home in Bethlehem, We Remember the Great Legacy of Brother Andrew.
Bethlehem Bible College held a memorial ceremony for the legacy of Brother Andrew, with the presence of our leadership, staff, faculty and students. From Bethlehem Bible College, his home base while in the Middle East, we remember his legacy and great love for the people of Palestine.
Dr. Bishara Awad, our founder and a close friend of Brother Andrew, shared some details of his history with the late Brother Andrew, how much he loved the college and how much it meant to him. He brought people to the college to support it, one of whom gave more than one million dollars toward the first building of Bethlehem Bible College. Dr. Bishara said, “He was a normal man, but God used him. So, this is a message for all of us to take a step of courage and make a change.”
Through a video call from the UK, Rev. John Angle (also a dear friend of the college and close friend of Brother Andrew) shared with us some memories. He remembered their visits together to the Palestinian cities and making friends and praying for people. “Someone once asked him if he would change anything in his life, and he answered: ‘I would even be more radical.’ So, we need to be radical Christians and share Jesus. Take risks for people, do what you can, pray for them, give them Bibles.”
Brother Andrew had a heart for Palestinians. He loved Bethlehem Bible College deeply. Our message today is to be beacons of hope in the Middle East and North Africa. As Brother Andrew always said, you have been called already. Say “yes” to the Lord even if it comes with a cost. BethBC was his home while in the region. Now he has gone to his eternal home. We remember him with great thankfulness in our hearts for who he was and for his great love and support for us!
